Sekundarni naslov: Occurrence of generalized anxiety disorder during the Covid-19 pandemic in healthcare workers
Sekundarni povzetek: Introduction: Coronavirus infection (COVID-19), represents a respiratory problem, in which the common symptoms are dry cough, fever and fatigue. Due to the rapid spread of the virus around the world the World Health Organization has declared a state of pandemic. This had a major impact on healthcare workers, because it made additional burden on them. The purpose of the final work was to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the development of generalized anxiety disorder in healthcare professionals. Methods: We performed a systematic review, analysis and synthesis of the literature whitch included the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the incidence of generalized anxiety disorder in healthcare workers. The quality of the ten identified articles was assessed by using the JBI tool for critical evaluation of evidence. A thematic analysis of the findings was performed in writting the final work. Results: We analyzed 10 articles that met the selected criteria. It was found that in all the studies analyzed, at least a quarter of healthcare professionals developed generalized anxiety disorder symptoms. Based on the sources, we found that the data differ by country and by time of onset of the pandemic. Its development has been influenced by several risk factors such as: workplace, fear of infection, stress, lack of protective equipment, stigmatization, and the socio-demographic factors. Discussion and conclusion: There is an increase in the occurrence of generalized anxiety disorder among healthcare workers. The organizational structure of healthcare is under threat due to the pandemic and needs to be constantly redesigned. It is therefore necessary to properly maintain the workforce in such a way as to adequately address the mental health of healthcare workers during this time of pandemic.
