magistrsko delo

Organisation of teamwork in Clinical department of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Effective teamwork is the key to achieving high-quality and safe health care, and to implement comprehensive nursing care, it is necessary to establish an appropriate system of division of labor or a combination of different systems of division of labor, depending on the obstacles in nursing.
In the master's thesis, a descriptive research method was used and quantitative research was carried out with a structured survey questionnaire in electronic form (July 2022). The nursing staff at the Children's Intensive Therapy Department were included in the research. 46 respondents out of a total of 53 employees took part in the survey (June 2022).
More than half of the respondents (58.7%) believe that the functional division of labor in EIT is important and enables better organization of work (51.1%), among the weaknesses of such a division of labor, is the lack of cooperation in not performing certain tasks (28.1 %). When assessing satisfaction with the current organization of work, the respondents on average agree with the statement 3.4 (SO = 1.04), and the importance of the leader is assessed by agreeing with the statement 4.6 (SO = 0.58). The most important personal qualities among the leaders, the respondents highlight are communication skills (27.8%), fairness (21.1%), and professionalism (11.1%).
The attitude of the respondents towards teamwork shows a positive attitude. The quality care of critically ill children is possible only with teamwork. The members are not aware of the importance of teamwork for the smooth and high-quality implementation of nursing care (p < 0.05). According to the respondents, the role of the leader in the team organization of work is important and necessary for the functioning of the team. There are no statistically significant differences between the determination of the team's role and the qualities of the leader by members and leaders (p > 0.05). Assessment of the satisfaction with the organizational structure of teamwork and the need to change the current organization of work show average values that are statistically significantly (p < 0.05) lower than the test values, and there are also no statistically significant differences (p > 0.05) on the part of team members and team leaders. Staff turnover makes it difficult to ensure uninterrupted nursing care in intensive care units, but it is therefore necessary to strengthen the team approach to work, to master management skills for leaders, and to promote the transfer of knowledge between members. |
