Sekundarni naslov: Implementation and integration of electronic document management system into business information system
Sekundarni povzetek: The management of documents in electronic form seems appealing for organizations. Not only does it enable effective performing of the business processes, it also lessens the risks accompanying the (dis)ability of assurance of credibility and legal validity of the documents. Electronic document management system (EDMS) can improve the effectiveness of the business operations in terms of expenses; moreover it supports the collaboration, knowledge management and decision making. The implementation of EDMS does not only represent its introduction into a certain environment, but it also stands for its integration into Business Information System (BIS). The latter is of great importance, because EDMS tends to be increasingly connected to other applications, which on the other hand results in the decrease of its role as an individual tool. The main objective of the thesis is to give a thorough insight into the numerous facts that have to be considered when it comes to dealing with document management. The insights are primarily aimed at the environments which plan to or are investing in activities connected to document management, be it within the framework of the subject placing an order or the one carrying it out. The previously mentioned facts are introduced as instructions in the form of methodology. They provide an explanation of how to tackle the document management as well as of what should be taken into consideration when dealing with the aforementioned activity. In this way the company which primarily deals with the carrying out of such projects will be offered a frame detailed enough to be able to be used in concrete projects. The thesis also introduces the trends of a wider range of Enterprise content management as well as the examination of the legislation and standards concerning it. Moreover, speaking from experience it presents the requests with which we are met when integrating EDMS. The final result of the thesis is a representation of a methodology of the integration of EDMS. The adequate references were used to form the outline of the methodology. Mainly due to the need for high levels of capacity to adapt particular project characteristics the agile approach of the methodology is highlighted. Furthermore, the thesis explains the meaning of the integration of EDMS in relation to a holistic point of view of BIS which resides in domain of enterprise architecture. The representation also highlights the usage of tools that support the processes of integration from the enterprise architecture point of view. The structure of methodology is based on MIKE 2.0, a framework well-established within information management domain. The representation logically continues by introduction of the methodology into a particular environment as well as estimating and evaluating its adequacy, efficiency, applicability in given situations and the ability to adjust to the characteristics of a concrete project.
