Povzetek
Uvod: Kronična bolečina v spodnjem delu hrbta predstavlja velik zdravstveni problem po vsem svetu in je vodilna zaradi invalidnosti in odsotnosti na delovnem mestu. Kronična bolečina, ki traja več kot 12 tednov, je pogosta posledica mehanskih poškodb. Pri ljudeh s kronično bolečino v spodnjem delu hrbta so oslabljene mišice jedra, kar posledično privede do zmanjšanja stabilnosti in gibljivosti ledvenega dela hrbtenice. S pilates vadbo mišice jedra ponovno aktiviramo, izboljšamo mišično zmogljivost in s tem posledično izboljšamo stabilnost ledvenega dela hrbtenice. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je bil na podlagi pregleda strokovne in znanstvene literature ugotoviti vpliv pilates vadbe na kronično bolečino v spodnjem delu hrbta. Metode dela: Uporabljena je bila deskriptivna metoda dela s pregledom znanstvene in strokovne literature. Literaturo smo iskali v elektronskih podatkovnih zbirkah PubMed in PEDro. V pregled literature smo vključili raziskave, ki so bile objavljene po letu 2014 v angleškem jeziku. Uporabljene so bile naslednje ključne besede in besedne zveze (samostojno, ali v kombinaciji) v angleškem jeziku: pilates, chronic low back pain, exercise. Rezultati: Na podlagi vključitvenih in izključitvenih kriterijev smo izbrali 7 raziskav, v katerih je skupno sodelovalo 867 preiskovancev s potrjeno bolečino spodnjega dela hrbta, ki je trajala tri mesece ali več. Vadbeni programi so trajali od 6 do največ 12 tednov. Frekvenca vadb se je gibala od enkrat do trikrat tedensko. Vadbene enote so trajale od 40 do 60 min. V vseh raziskavah so ugotovili statistično pomembno izboljšanje bolečine pri preiskovancih, ki so izvajali pilates vadbo tako na blazini kot na reformerju. Razprava in zaključek: Pilates vadba je učinkovita metoda pri obravnavi ljudi s kronično bolečino v spodnjem delu hrbta v primerjavi z drugimi metodami vadbe. Učinkovito zmanjša bolečino in invalidnost, izboljša ravnotežje in mišično zmogljivost ter poleg tega ugodno deluje na depresijo in anksioznost ter pomembno prispeva k izboljšanju kakovosti življenja. Pilates vadba se je pokazala kot varna in učinkovita. Poleg tega se lahko za vsakega posameznika prilagodi frekvenco in intenzivnost vadbe.

Introduction: Chronic low back pain represents a significant global health problem and is a leading cause of disability and absence from work. Chronic pain lasting more than 12 weeks is often the result of mechanical injuries. People with chronic low back pain experience weakened core muscles, which consequently leads to reduced stability and mobility of the lumbar spine. Pilates exercises re-engage the core muscles, increase muscle performance, and consequently improve the stability of the lumbar spine. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work was to determine the effect of Pilates exercises on chronic low back pain based on a review of professional and scientific literature. Methods: A descriptive research method was employed, reviewing scientific and professional literature. The literature search was conducted in electronic databases including PubMed and PEDro. The literature review included studies published after 2014 in English. The following keywords and phrases (independently or in combination) were used in English: Pilates, chronic low back pain, and exercise. Results: Based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, we selected 7 studies in which a total of 867 participants with confirmed low back pain lasting three months or more were involved. The exercise programs lasted from 6 to a maximum of 12 weeks, with exercise frequency ranging from one to three times per week. Each exercise session lasted from 40 to 60 minutes. All studies reported statistically significant improvements in pain for participants who practiced Pilates on either a mat or a reformer. Discussion and conclusion: Pilates exercise is an effective method for treating people with chronic low back pain compared to other exercise methods. It effectively reduces pain and disability, improves balance and muscle performance, affects depression and anxiety positively, and contributes to improving quality of life significantly. Pilates exercise is safe and effective, and the frequency and intensity of the workout can be adjusted for everyone. |
