diplomsko delo

            | Sekundarni povzetek: | Introduction: The appearance and use of artificial intelligence has spiked in the recent years, surfacing in healthcare and nursing. We noticed that artificial intelligence and chatbots are being frequently used for personal and educational purposes, which can potentially affect critical thinking and the way of learning and receiving information. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to discover and present, the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, that the implementation of artificial intelligence can have on the education of nursing students. Methods: A review of literature has been performed, which we searched through the research platforms EBSCOhost and PubMed. The literature was found in the following bibliographic collections; CINAHL Ultimate, MEDLINE, ScienceDirect and ERIC. We have included scientific articles that are not older than five years, are written in English and fully accessible. In the analysis we used 14 literature sources. Results: On the basis of the analysis, four themes have emerged. Showcasing the role and influence of artificial intelligence on the development of critical thinking, we present the following findings; artificial intelligence encourages critical thinking, the comparison of artificial intelligence and traditional learning methods, artificial intelligence suppresses critical thinking and the challenges and opportunities of higher education establishments in the development of critical thinking in students. Discussion and conclusion: Artificial intelligence has positive effect on critical thinking of nursing students compared to traditional learning methods, we highlight the fact that all the researches were conducted in a controlled environment and artificial intelligence was used in the most optimal way. Based on the conclusion, we suggest that higher education institutions should consider incorporating artificial intelligence in their curriculum. At the same time, they should inform the students about the dangers, ethical dilemmas, shortcomings and the limitations of artificial intelligence in nursing. |
