Assessment of state of school gyms of Podravska region from aspect of architectual barriers, adaptation and accessibility for students with motion disability |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
The main purpose of the research was to investigate the state of adjustment, accessibility and possibility of independent use of areas in school gymnasiums for pupils with physical impairment. The study was carried out as a part of the Targeted Research Programme (Ciljni raziskovalni program – CRP) under the title “The Competitiveness of Slovenia” in collaboration with the Faculty of Sport at the University of Ljubljana, which carried out a study with the title “The Analysis of a School Sports Area with Guidelines for Further Investments”.
This thesis focused on architectonic obstacles. Vovk (2000) defines these as obstacles a person on a wheelchair comes across with when entering and using a facility. The data were gathered with the use of a questionnaire in September and October 2011 in 20 randomly chosen schools in Podravska region. In the empirical part the architectonic obstacles, the accessibility and adjustment of different areas, which enable, hinder or prevent a pupil with physical impairment to partake in physical education, were investigated.
It was established that even though the Republic of Slovenia is making progress in removing architectonic obstacles, the accessibility and usability of the areas in the sample schools observed in this study is still relatively bad. It was established that the dressing rooms have the highest accessibility – 69.6 %, and the bathrooms for younger pupils are least accessible – in 4.3 % of the cases, along with the access to the school and the front door respectively – in 4.3 %. The access to the gymnasium was adequate in 26.1 % of the cases, as well as the bathroom adjustment for pupils with physical impairment. The access to sports equipment was adequate in 34.8 %, as well as the access to outdoor playgrounds for pupils with physical impairment. The possibility of putting in smaller or larger sports equipment turned out to be adequate with 43.5 %. |

Čeprav Republika Slovenija pokriva področje odpravljanja arhitektonskih ovir, imajo šole v izbranem vzorcu še vedno relativno slabo dostopnost in uporabnost opazovanih prostorov. |
