The method of video-hometraining is used in families that are facing difficulties with the upbringing of their children. In the Netherlands this method is well-known and integrated in many pedagogical processes, whilst it is relatively unknown in Slovenia. Using short video footages of a family's daily activities, the video-hometrainer is able to see what the points of improvement are in terms of communication and interaction, with each other. The video-hometrainer takes a look at the video footage together with the parents, showing them the child's needs and growth potential. It is mostly after, that the parents realize how many attempts of communication their children actually try to establish and just how few of them they have noticed and reacted to. The video-hometraining expert leads the parents in their process of realizing how important means of basic communication are in the efforts of improving one's family communication and consequently also the relationship between the family members.
The essence of this paper is dedicated to the introducing of video home training – its historical and theoretical grounds; necessary procedural steps; skills being used by successful video-hometrainers and; the education to become a video-hometrainer and also to the expansion of this method to the countries abroad.
In the research part of this paper I have observed and analyzed the questioners filled in by three expert professionals with which I gained insights in the practical application of the method. Through their testimonials I was able to confirm the findings of my written sources over the method's origins, it's backgrounds and work procedures. I also gained the insight in the skills that make a video-hometrainer successful and the obstacles professionals need to face at work. |

S pomočjo intervjuvanja le-teh sem pridobila njihova mnenja in izkušnje o praktičnem načinu dela s to metodo, kar mi je omogočilo dodatni vpogled v mehanizme in vzvode metode. |
