Sekundarni povzetek:	In my diploma paper I have described iron handicraft which used to be an important part of the past in Bohinj. The development of the handicraft over centuries, from prehistory to the modern times, has affected the diversified past in this area. The diploma paper comprises the history of the ironwork industry in the area of Bohinj, to wit, prehistory, Roman and modern times. The theoretical part features the beginnings of ironwork industry in the world and the arrival of ironwork industry to the area of the present day Bohinj. I have focused on the sites bearing witness to the ironwork handicraft, certain important persons who had an impact on the development of the ironwork handicraft in prehistory and modern times. The empirical part comprises the survey carried out among the pupils: I have analysed it and demonstrated their knowledge on ironwork industry in Bohinj. Furthermore, the analysis of the survey among the teachers of the elementary school in Bohinjska Bistrica provided me with an insight into how the teachers present the hometown and its history. In addition, through the surveys I have also checked how well the teachers are familiar with the past of the ironwork handicraft in Bohinj. The teachers and pupils know well certain key facts on ironwork industry. The latter played an important role in the area of Bohinj and it is frequently discussed in the classroom. However, it is not the only craft that has had an impact on Bohinj. Our predecessors have left behind a rich heritage which is closely intertwined.

Povzetek (ePrints):	V diplomskem delu sem opisala železarsko obrt, ki je bila pomemben del preteklosti v Bohinju. Razvijanje te obrti skozi čas, od pradavnine pa vse do novega veka, je vplivalo na razgibano preteklost na tem območju. Diploma obsega zgodovino železarstva na območju Bohinja, in sicer prazgodovino in rimsko dobo ter novi vek. V teoretičnem delu sem opisala začetke železarstva v svetu in prihod železarstva na območje današnjega Bohinja. Osredotočila sem se na najdišča, ki pričajo o železarski obrti, na nekatere pomembne osebnosti, ki so vplivale na razvoj železarske obrti v Bohinju ter na postopke pridobivanja železa v prazgodovini in novem veku. V empiričnem delu sem z analizo anket učencev prikazala znanje učencev o železarstvu v Bohinju, analiza anket učiteljev osnovne šole v Bohinjski Bistrici pa mi je dala vpogled v poučevanje učiteljic o domačem kraju in o zgodovini le-tega. Preko teh anket sem tudi preverila, v kolikšni meri učiteljice poznajo preteklost železarske obrti v Bohinju. Učiteljice in učenci poznajo nekatera ključna dejstva o železarstvu. Železarstvo ima na območju Bohinja zelo veliko vlogo, ki se ji v razredu posvečajo večkrat, vendar pa ta obrt ni edina, ki je vplivala na Bohinj. Predniki so zapustili bogato dediščino, ki se med seboj prepleta in dopolnjuje.
