Sekundarni jezik: Angleški jezik
Sekundarni naslov: Between textual and visual storytelling – comparison between book and cartoon
Sekundarni povzetek: Besides the stories, which parents (and the rest of the family) tell their children, there is a more popular form of fairytales nowadays, namely the cartoon or animation. There are even TV channels that play cartoons all day long and as we are often not critical enough, we watch everything they offer us. The discussion of a cartoon is included in the curriculum of Slovenian language and that is why I decided to study this area closely. In the theoretical part I presented characteristics of a fairytale and different techniques of animating, children's reading development and some of the main reasons why a cartoon should/could NOT replace the book. On the example of a folk tale The brave little tailor, written by the Grimm brothers, I tried to define differences between a literary text and a cartoon adapted from the same fairytale. I also tried to find out how a cartoon affects children’s imagination and what are their reactions (positive and negative) to creating a cartoon. I performed a research in the second grade of OŠ 8 talcev in Logatec. There were 12 boys and 7 girls. The results have shown that fairytales in a written form are more stimulating for children's imagination than watching a cartoon and that they differ a lot.
