Access of sports facilities and areas for phsically disabled students in primary schools of the Central Slovenia region |

In today's school system there is more and more emphasis on the inclusion and integration of children with special needs in the regular school program. Inclusion in its full concept is possible only when the specific needs of children are taken into consideration. Among them are the need for adaptation of school premises and the need for physical activity. Therefore I decided to explore what possibilities of inclusion into sports education do physically impaired pupils have in terms of adaptability, accessibility and ability to use school premises within the gym.
The survey was conducted in central Slovenia; the sample consisted of 16 primary and 5 secondary schools. I observed adaptability and accessibility for physically impaired pupils into school, the adequacy of the way to the gym, adaptation of changing rooms and toilets (also for younger children) in the context of sports facilities, access to sports equipment and gadgets, their input into the gym and accessibility of outdoor sports surfaces.
The survey showed inadequate accessibility of most of the variables (less than 50 %), especially in the area of toilet adaptation for younger children. The adequacy of this variable was 9.5 %. On the contrary, the most accessible were dressing rooms within the sports facilities with 57 % coverage. Sanitary facilities within the sports facilities were adequate in the same extent as the way to the gym, both in 47.6 %. Likewise, were estimated the variables of access to school and to sports equipment, both are physically disabled pupil adjusted in only 33.3 %. Sports equipment and gadgets can be put into the gym at 28.6 % of schools and the proportion of schools with unimpeded access to outdoor sports surfaces amounts to 38.1 %. |

Zato sem se odločila raziskati, kakšne možnosti vključevanja imajo učenci z gibalno oviranostjo k pouku športne vzgoje z vidika prilagojenosti, dostopnosti in možnosti samostojne uporabe šolskih prostorov v sklopu telovadnice.
Podobno sta bila ocenjeni spremenljivki dostop v šolo in dostop do športnih orodij, obe sta gibalno oviranemu učencu prilagojeni le v 33,3 %. |
