Sekundarni povzetek:	It is often seen that people are not interested in plants or they are just sub-prime issue. In our study, we investigated the attitudes toward plants and botany classes that students, future biology teachers and elementary school students have. At the same time we investigated what influences their attitudes towards the plants. For this purpose, we developed two survey questionnaires. The first one is meant for primary school children and the second one for students. Both questionnaires included statements about aesthetic value of plants, interest in plants, protection of plants, botany lessons and use of plants. The questionnaire for students included also statements about teaching botany. The respondents evaluated each statement with a 5-step scale. The survey involved 534 respondents, of which 398 were pupils from the fifth to the ninth grade of two elementary schools and 136 were students of the first and fourth year of faculty. The results showed that girls have more positive attitudes toward plants than boys. An important finding was also that schoolchildren and students believe that lessons of botany are difficult. Older students often expressed more positive attitudes toward plants than younger students. We have also found out that place of residence does not affect the attitude toward plants. The results of our study have shown the attitudes of pupils and students. On this basis we could make changes in the educational process, which would help to develop and build a more positive attitude to plants.

Povzetek (ePrints):	Pogosto opazimo, da se ljudje ne zanimajo za rastline ali pa so te le drugorazredna tema. V naši raziskavi smo ugotavljali, kakšna stališča do rastlin in pouka botanike imajo študenti, bodoči učitelji, in osnovnošolci. Hkrati smo ugotavljali, kaj vpliva na njihova stališča do rastlin. V ta namen smo oblikovali dva anketna vprašalnika. Prvi je bil namenjen osnovnošolcem, drugi študentom. V obeh vprašalnikih so bile trditve iz sklopov estetske vrednosti rastlin, interesa za rastline, varstva rastlin, pouka botanike in uporabnosti rastlin. V vprašalniku za študente pa so bile trditve še iz sklopa poučevanja botanike. Anketiranci so strinjanje s posamezno trditvijo ocenjevali s 5-stopenjsko lestvico. V anketi je sodelovalo 534 anketirancev, od tega 398 osnovnošolcev od petega do devetega razreda dveh osnovnih šol in 136 študentov prvih in četrtih letnikov. Rezultati raziskave so pokazali, da imajo dekleta pozitivnejša stališča do rastlin kot fantje. Pomembna ugotovitev je tudi bila, da osnovnošolci in študenti menijo, da je pouk botanike zahteven in dolgočasen. Starejši študenti so pogosteje izrazili pozitivnejša stališča do rastlin kot mlajši študenti. Za osnovnošolce pa lahko trdimo ravno nasprotno, saj smo ugotovili, da imajo mlajši učenci pozitivnejša stališča kot starejši. Ugotovili smo tudi, da kraj bivanja ne vpliva na stališča do rastlin. Rezultati naše raziskave so pokazali stanje stališč učencev in študentov. Na podlagi tega bi lahko uvajali spremembe v procesu izobraževanja, ki bi pripomogle k razvoju in oblikovanju bolj pozitivnih stališč do rastlin.
