This research deals with the way people of Albanian ethnicity experience the Slovenian school system and how they construct their lives within the bounds of society.
The theoretical part in the beginning of the research focuses on the migration processes, learning of the mother tongue and the second language, and the key characteristics of the Albanian nation from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia. I have also focused on prejudices, stereotypes and discrimination, and the role of teachers and school counsellors working with children from immigrant families.
The empirical part further explores the topics from the theoretical part through four different interviews with Albanians, aged from 20 to 24 and born either in Slovenia or in Kosovo or Macedonia. The interviews shed light on their personal experience with the topic of this research. |

V diplomskem delu sem raziskovala, kako osebe albanske narodnosti doživljajo šolski sistem v Sloveniji in kako kot pripadniki etnične skupine konstruirajo svoje življenje v širši družbi.
S teoretičnim delom, s katerim odpiram nalogo, želim osvetliti migracijske procese, učenje maternega in drugega jezika ter ključne značilnosti albanskega naroda iz Albanije, Kosova in Makedonije. Osredotočila sem se tudi na predsodke, stereotipe in diskriminacijo ter na naloge učitelja in svetovalnih delavcev pri delu z otroki priseljencev.
V empiričnem delu sem v intervjujih s štirimi sogovorci albanske narodnosti, rojenimi bodisi v Sloveniji, na Kosovu ali v Makedoniji in starimi od 20 do 24 let izhajala iz tematik, ki sem jih obravnavala v teoretičnem delu in tako spoznavala njihove življenjske zgodbe. |
