Sekundarni povzetek: Teacher’s attitude towards lessons of natural sciences is an important factor in the process of teaching and schooling. The attitude originates in the teacher’s personality, which is evolving from birth onwards through experience on the one side and education on the other. However, the teacher has a significant impact on the formation of the pupil’s personality, beliefs and viewpoints on different subjects. A number of studies, which were used as a basis for the theoretical part of the thesis, have shown that, beside parents, siblings and peers, teachers function as role models as well. To this end, it is important for the teacher to cognitively master all areas of teaching and convey the knowledge to the pupils through interesting, diverse and understandable lessons. Students often notice more than teachers are aware of. Thus, it is essential that teachers try to conceal or replace their weak areas with good and organized preparation for lessons. The thesis aims at determining the prevailing attitude among primary school teachers, how that attitude affects their pupils and whether a negative attitude towards natural sciences can be concealed with good and organized preparation for lessons. Moreover, we interviewed several teachers and their pupils in different grades of primary school to establish, whether the lesson itself influences the pupils and their attitude towards the subject. Findings reveal a number of interesting and useful insights.
