Sekundarni naslov: Perspective of Slovene and Spanish students of special education and rehabilitation teacher training
Sekundarni povzetek: Over the last few decades, Special Education study programmes have undergone various modifications and reconstructions to keep up with the constantly changing science concepts. The purpose of the changes was to prepare future specialists for this field of work in a way that would coincide with conceptual orientations and to adapt terminology used. The aim of this research is to portray the concepts about the Special Education study programme and latter work from the perspective of the students that have just started studying, the ones that are finishing their studies and individuals that are being educated in this field in Spain. At the same time, we tried to gather and represent characteristics, roles and tasks of a special education teacher in one place for the future students of this programme. We have discovered that Slovenian and Spanish students both perceive the work with and for individuals with special needs as the main objective of this field, regardless of the differences made in naming the study programmes in different countries. Majority of matriculated students stated similar reasons for choosing this field of study. The only exceptions are students from Spain that are, according to our research, driven by desire to study this field in depth; however that may be due to the specific social-political norms of their environment. Our research showed that Slovenian and Spanish students have similar opinions about the study process that they evaluate as a good one, although they have noted the same faults in terms of content and practical training.
