Sekundarni povzetek: The thesis presents the poverty in domestic environment attended by home care nurses and how poverty impacts on human health. Our goal was to define the concept of poverty, to determine the age at which population is most affected by poverty, explain the correlations between poverty and human health and to determine which professionals help to people in the poverty. With our study we wanted to determine, which diseases are often associated with poverty and if the home care nurses turn to the responsible institutions and cooperate with them in the case of poverty. The survey was conducted among home care nurses in the care center of dr. Adolf Drolc Maribor. The study was included 50 randomly selected home care nurses. The study was conducted in September 2012. The data were obtained by a questionnaire, which contained 14 questions. There were 12 questions of closed type, one question of semi-open type and one question was crosswise type, where they have to match diseases and risk factors. The thesis consists of theoretical and empirical part. We used descriptive working method, inquiry method, the method of datacollection, review and analysis of data.We found out that home care nurses confront with poverty when they are at fieldwork. We also found out that the poverty effects on the development of the disease. When the poverty appears the home care nurses turn to institutions like the Red Cross, Caritas,…The fact is that poverty exists in Slovenia and has been increasing. Worrying is the fact that all inquired home care nurses confirmed, that were confronted with the phenomenon of poverty. The most that can be done is to connect with the relevant departments, which in fact do so, and in such a way help to their patients. Above all, it is the State that should be aware of the problem of poverty and should do some steps in this direction.
