(diplomsko delo)

MANAGING PAIN IN PATIENTS WITH EMERGENCY CONDITIONS IN UROLOGY |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Pain following humans since their creation and called the fifth vital sign in the twenty-first century, is also present with patients finding themselves in urological emergency cases. In our thesis, we presented the most common urological emergency cases, risk factors for their occurrence, healing, pain treatment, nurse's role and nursing care during hospitalization.
In the empiric part we showed the results of the research made on patients received in the Urological Department of the General Hospital Novo mesto for one of the urological emergency conditions. The data were acquired through an anonymous survey answered by fifty patients.
The data analysis shows that the main symptom leading the patient to the hospital is the pain itself. Despite all modern devices used to measure and relieve the pain, the patients experience the worst pains right during their hospitalization. Even different scales used to measure the intensity of pains are not always very helpful to the patients. The results have revealed that the nurse is the patients' the most common source of information which is, in addition, a very big responsibility. A patient entering a healing process and suffering a pain, also carries different fears which are likely to accentuate the pain
Each pain needs a serious approach for this is the only way to have power over it. |
