Metode: Raziskavo smo izvedli s pomočjo kvantitativne metode oziroma s pomočjo Pfizerjevega vprašalnika o bolnikovem zdravju 9 (PHQ-9), ki vsebuje 9 ocenjevalnih vprašanj in možnost štiristopenjske lestvice odgovorov.

Sekundarni naslov: ASSESSMENT OF DEPRESSION IN ADOLESCENT GIRLS USING PHQ-9-TOOL AND THE ROLE OF A NURSE
Sekundarni povzetek: Theoretical background: Adolescence is an extremely high-risk period for the emergence or development of depressive disorders and occurs more often than usual, due to intensified pressures at home, at school and from peers. Depressive disorder has a major impact on quality of life, relationships and further mental development of young girls into adulthood. In the first place it is important that the disorder is identified, and then treated with sufficient quality. If not detected and treated, it can repeat itself, or occur in a more severe form, the consequences on the other hand can lead to serious personal hardship, dissocial behavior or even suicide. Research methodology: Our research was conducted using quantitative method or Pfizer's Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ-9), which contained 9 evaluation questions and the possibility of four grades of responses. Results: Our assessment of the results of the questionnaire replies revealed that serious depressive disorder occurs in an almost one third of respondents, and that almost half of the girls in the last two weeks detect symptoms of mild levels of depression. Conclusion: The success of detection and treatment of depression is largely dependent on the inertia of the individual and the quality of co-operation between the affected, health team and the support of parents and peers. However, it is also crucial that the affected adolescent girls as well as their next of kin are not ashamed of, or deny nor ignore the symptoms. They should be properly educated about the disease and informed about treatment options, but then again this is the professional duty of nurses.
