Modification of the respiratory system for the simulation of pathological spirogram |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
PURPOSE: The purpose of this research was to make and validate a simulation model which represents a patient with lung disease. The model allows healthy volunteers which conduct spirometry to simulate a pathological spirographic record.
METHODS: We used a descriptive method of work to describe the theory. The middle part of the research was based on an experimental study where we made a simulator that shows a pathologic spirographic record. The simulator was made so that the two anesthesical breathing tubes were linked with the Y-shape coupler on both sides. One breathing tube represents inhalation and the other exhalation. We put an APL valve on the exhalation tube which caused an obstruction. We attached a spirometer on one side of the simulator which measured the spirogram. We attached the breathing mask on the other side and then the mouthpiece with which healthy volunteers implemented spirometry.
RESULTS: We tested five volunteers which implemented spirometry with the mouthpiece and facial mask on four different ways. With the APL valve fully opened and closed, the APL valve turn 90 degrees clockwise and the APL valve turned 180 degrees clockwise. Obstruction was proven five times, thirty-two times a mixed interference of ventilation from which seven-teen times predominant obstructive and fifteen times predominant restrictive. Three times the test was aborted do to difficulties.
CLOSURE: We note that the simulator information are comparable to real data which means that the simulator was successfully manufactured, so now we can simulate a patient with lung disease, but we did not only prove an obstruction but a mixed interference of ventilation, which means that a simulated patient has two or more diseases at once. |
