V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili gibalni razvoj otroka, in sicer dejavnike, stopnje in hitrost gibalnega razvoja.

Sekundarni naslov: CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT OF FINE MOTOR SKILLS FROM BIRTH TO INDEPENDENT WALKING
Sekundarni povzetek: The thesis with the title "Childhood Development of Fine Motor Skills from Birth to Independent Walking" consists of theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part presents a child's motor skills development, including the factors, the stages and the pace of a child's motor skills development. Hereby the negative and positive factors of a child's environment are presented. The natural forms of movement are described, with the main focus being on the aspect of walking. For that purpose, positive factors influencing the development of walking are illustrated as well as mistakes that parents are likely to do when teaching their child how to walk. In the empirical part a descriptive and causal, non-experimental research method was used. A poll consisting of 11 questions was used as a research instrument. The sample taken was not random. We conducted a poll on 100 parents whose children attend the first age group in a kindergarten. The main goal was to establish how much time on average a child needs from birth to independent walking. The results have shown that the majority of children need 13 months to start walking independently. There are no significant gender differences and children of those parents who spend more time with them do not walk independently any sooner than those whose parents spend less time with their children. Therefore parents do not have the biggest influence on their child's motor skills development and independent walking.
