Abstract

Secondary abstract: The standard language norm comes about as a result of continuous adaptation toa social and cultural environment, as a result of adapting to the current social ideal. Consequently, any description of a language is ideologically marked in one way or another. Because the description of the Slovenian linguistic norm is largely based on real-life material, above all on literary texts, many linguistic descriptions of Slovene are still based on translation norms that emerged from translations of the classics from the first half of the twentieth century.
