Secondary abstract: | This article discusses the role of humor in learning, draws attention to the importance of systematically developing nonnative speakers’ humor competence, analyzes textbooks for Slovenian as a second or foreign language, and summarizes the results of a survey on learners’ understanding and attitudes toward humor. Based on the material reviewed, it concludes that humor in Slovenia has begun to emerge as a subject of research, but it is not yet systematically included in teaching Slovenian as a second or foreign language. |
