Abstract

V empiričnem delu so predstavljeni rezultati in interpretacija rezultatov anonimne ankete.

Secondary title: Use of teaching aids in swimming lessons for children
Secondary abstract: This thesis, entitled The use of didactic tools in teaching children to swim, intended to address the frequency and different ways of using swimming aids in teaching swimming from various perspectives. The thesis aimed to determine, by using a survey, which didactic tools were used to teach swimming, which tools were used to motivate children, how the use of didactic tools impacted swimming performance, and what impact teaching time had on the frequency of use of didactic tools. The data were collected from swimming coaches, teachers, and instructors from different swimming schools in Slovenia. The empirical part of the thesis presents the results and interpretation of the results of the conducted anonymous survey. A non-randomised sample from a specific population of swimming instructors, teachers, and coaches was used to collect the data. The data were analysed using quantitative methods. Univariate (frequency distribution) and multivariate (ANOVA) statistical analyses were used, depending on the number of variables analysed. We found that the use of didactic tools in the surveyed swimming schools was frequent but not varied. We also found that children were the most motivated by submersible toys and underwater tunnels. The hypotheses that predicted a correlation between the frequency of use of didactic tools and children's success, and a correlation between teaching time and the use of didactic tools, were rejected.
