Abstract

Secondary abstract: In the Slovene spoken by Prekmurian Hungarians there is a lot of interference from their mother tongue: they do not use a third person personal pronoun after transitive verbs, or an auxiliary verb in the past tense, while they do use Hungarian word order, calques and identification of gender. All these examples of interference are also characteristic for the Serbian spoken by Hungarians in Vojvodina, which points to a sizeable influence of Hungarian on the L2.
