Cross-curricular integration of social sciences in the second grade of elementary school |
Secondary abstract: |
In this thesis, the two themes of social studies from slovenian and english cross-curricular coursewares were analyzed. There were also two different types of curriculum planning. One type is based on content and the other is based on processes of cross-curricular integration. Each type of curriculum planning contains different social science theme; nevertheless, both were designed according to current curricular base.
It was determined that cross-curricular coursewares particularly rely upon the content of cross-curricular integration, what coincides with multidisciplinary model. All subjects could be integrated using content base, but only four using process base. The predominant advantage of the content cross-curricular integration is motivation, which is made possible by integrating various subjects. In contrast, few disadvantages were found: deficient attention onto teaching goals, unsatisfactory time employment and pupils` disintegrated experience of education. However, complete elimination of content cross-curricular integration within process curriculum planning was not possible. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Diplomsko delo vsebuje analize dveh družboslovnih tem v slovenskem in tujem učnem gradivu namenjenem medpredmetnemu povezovanju.
