Secondary title: Educators’ motivation and competence for working with musically gifted two-year-old children
Secondary abstract: The purpose of my diploma paper is to present musically gifted children in kindergarten. In the introduction there are pointed out various definitions of the term talent which are found in literature. Motivation and educators' competence, crucial elements for working with musically gifted children, are discussed in the later section. The emphasis is also placed on music in kindergarten and musical abilities, as being more broadly discussed as the music talent itself. Furthermore my diploma paper deals with some standard and nonstandard music ability tests, as well as with the less broad definition of the term talent, so-called music talent. The second part of my diploma paper represents a survey which was carried out among six graduated educators from Laško and Ljubljana who work with two-year-old children. The survey was based on the interview, as an instrument for indicating the educators' motivation and competence for working with musically gifted children. The results have shown the educators' motivation and willingness to work with musically gifted children. However, there is a lack of adequate knowledge which is necessary for working with gifted children.

Abstract (ePrints): Diplomska naloga obravnava glasbeno nadarjene otroke v vrtcu.
