The teachers’ motivation for working with musically gifted students |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
In my diploma thesis I deal with the teachers’ motivational stance towards working with musically gifted students, as this area has not been the subject of extensive research. As an introduction, I shall present the structure of the role of the teacher, for which motivation is one of the crucial elements. It is this structure that takes up a great part of the diploma thesis, as it describes the problem that is at the heart of the research. The second part of the thesis deals with working with musically gifted students.
In my diploma thesis I have focused on the six motivational topics and examined the motivational stance teachers have towards working with musically gifted students. A total of 135 working teachers and students – future teachers, have taken part in the research.
In the empirical part I have relied on the questionnaire »Orientations for Teaching Survey - OTS« (Rotar Pance, 1999). I have arranged this questionnaire in such a way that it encompasses various motives teachers have for working with musically gifted students. I have checked whether their motivation levels differ according to their status, work experience, level of education, type of education and additional music education. During the research, the participants have noticed a high level of the altruistic, continuous, interpersonal and stimulational topic. They have ranked the influence of others and the psychological topic lower. The results of the questionnaire differences have shown that the motivation is mostly dependent on additional musical education. The motivation is not affected by their status, age, work experience, level and type of education.
The results have shown that only half of the participants are prepared to work with musically gifted students after the individual education plan.
In my diploma thesis, I have come to the conclusion that the motivation of teachers is different to a degree, but is mostly dependant on the individual effort of the teacher. Additional education, such as taking part in musical activities and seminars, is what can significantly affect the teachers’ motivation towards working with musically gifted students. |

Povzetek (ePrints): |
V diplomskem delu obravnavam motivacijsko naravnanost učiteljev za delo z glasbeno nadarjenimi učenci, saj to področje še ni v veliki meri raziskano.
Nižje so ovrednotili temo vpliva drugih in psihološko temo.
