We create didactic games from waste material with five to six year old children |
Secondary abstract: |
These days an extreme importance is given to ecology and environmental education. Therefore already in pre-school period ecological content is been incorporated in the educational process to make our children become more ecologically conscious. In this way they would become best friends of the nature.
In the theoretical part of the paper children's creativity is presented as these days children are very curious, confident and willing to try new things. The following discussion is about developmental characteristics of six-year-old children, about children’s game and didactic game, which is used to implement educational tasks. Ecology and environmental education and with those two areas related waste separation are also briefly presented. In addition the most common waste materials we encounter in everyday life are described, which have been used to make didactic toys (paper, plastic, wood and metal).
At the end of the theoretical part there are some words about the Kindergarten Rainbow Trebnje, which is involved in a project called Eco kindergarten as a way of life. The emphasis of the project is on the children’s orientation to explore nature, develop their awareness of belonging to the nature, attaching to it and to its purity.
The empirical part contains the purpose of the paper and the research questions, examples and process of making didactic games from waste material and also the survey with a questionnaire, which was carried out before and after the implementation of activities. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
