Secondary title: Voice disorders in children with special needs
Secondary abstract: The aim of this thesis is to determine the frequency of voice disorders among children with special needs and the causes of hoarseness in said population. The study included 60 children between six and twelve years of age, who attend the program adapted to lower educational standards and specific program at the elementary school Jela Janežič and at Janez Levec Training Institute. The study included children who are defined as children with mild, moderate, severe or profound intellectual disabilities. I gathered the data with the help of a questionnaire, which was given to the parents of children with special needs. I divided the children into two groups. The group of children, who are often hoarse, and those who do not have frequent voice problems, then comparing them with each other. I have found that 30% of children are often hoarse. The percentage of dysphonic children with special needs is practically no different from the percentage of children without special needs, referred to in specialist literature. Factors that affect voice quality are exposure to cigarette smoke, loud speech, use of voice outside its capabilities, often shouting, animal and engine mimicking and also impulsivity. With other factors I did not prove any statistical association with hoarseness. The data is presented in tables and graphs.

Podatki so prikazani v tabelah in grafih.
