Abstract

Magistrska naloga zajema oceno uspešnosti in primernosti vrstniške mediacije z vidika učencev šestega in devetega razreda. Pri tem je bila preverjena vloga spola, razreda in izkušenj. Podana je tudi ocena učinkovitosti in uveljavljanja vrstniške mediacije z vidika stališč učiteljev, glede na delovno dobo, delovno mesto in izkušnje z vrstniško mediacijo. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 395 učencev in 118 učiteljev določenih osnovnih šol na področju Zavoda za šolstvo Maribor. Podatki za učence so bili pridobljeni s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika, podatki za učitelje pa s pomočjo lestvice stališč. Rezultati za učence so pokazali, da vrstniška mediacija še ne dosega želenih učinkov. Večina učencev še ne zaznava koristi vrstniške mediacije, še zlasti ne zmanjšanja nasilja na šoli. Mnogi vrstniško mediacijo dojemajo kot priložnost za izognitev kazni. Prav tako vpleteni učenci pogosteje kot izvajalci menijo, da je izvajanje vrstniške mediacije zahtevno in nevarno. Rezultati za učitelje so pokazali, da imajo učitelji pozitivno stališče tako do učinkovitosti, kot tudi uveljavljanja vrstniške mediacije. Učitelji so najbolj soglašali s pozitivnimi učinki vrstniške mediacije na področju komunikacije, medosebnih odnosov in za tem na področju učenčeve samopodobe (to so potrdili predvsem učitelji z višjo delovno dobo in izkušnjami). Nekoliko bolj so bili učitelji zadržani pri njenih učinkih na pouk in še zlasti pri razbremenjevanju učiteljev in staršev.

Secondary abstract: The master's thesis deals with the assessment of effectiveness and appropriateness of peer mediation from the point of view of sixth and ninth grade students. It examines the role of gender, class and experience. There is also an assessment of effectiveness and enforcement of peer mediation from the point of view of teachers, according to period of employement, position and experience with peer mediation. The study involved 395 students and 118 teachers from specific primary schools from the Education Institute in Maribor. The data for students were gained with the help of the questionnaire and the data for teachers with the help of the Likert's scale. The results for students showed that peer mediation has not yet reached the desired effect. Most students still do not perceive the benefits of peer mediation; in particular, the reduction of violence in school. Many perceive peer mediation as the opportunity to avoid punishment. Even so, the involved students, more often than mediators, believe that the implementation of peer mediation is demanding and dangerous. The results for teachers revealed that the teachers have a positive standpoint towards effectiveness, as well as enforcement of peer mediation. The teachers agreed that the most positive effects of peer mediation showed in the field of communication, interpersonal relationships and; thus, in the field of student's self-esteem (this was confirmed mostly by the teachers with the longest period of employment and experience). The teachers were slightly more reticent to its effects on teaching and; especially, on taking the burden off of teachers and parents.
