Sekundarni povzetek: During my studies of pre-school education on »Pedagoška fakulteta Ljubljana« I was employed full-time in regular sections of kindergarten. For several years I had an oppurtunity to watch children with special needs who were included in kindergartens. At the end of my studying years, I got an idea that I could try to determine on a specific case, how successful a child with special needs is in comparison to his or her peers. In the first part of my degree I focused on one of the groups, which are classified as children with special needs. These are hearing-impaired and deaf children. I presented a term »children with special needs« and then in details defined deaf and hearing-impaired children. I also presented causes and types of hearing disorders. I mentioned documents, which manage upbringing and education of such children and tried to establish what kind of results do they achieve in separate areas in comparison with peers who are able to hear. In the practical part of my degree I tested trying to fit a child with a heavier hearing disorder into a group of 12 children, aged two to three years. I was establishing in which parts of »Kurikulum za vrtce (1999)« he was stronger and in which he was weaker than average. The results showed that in almost all areas the boy with hearing disorder is less successful compared to the tested sample of children.

To so gluhi in naglušni otroci.
