Povzetek

Ustrezni prevodi vinsko-kulinaričnih doživetij so del promocije Maribora kot mesta z najstarejšo vinsko trto, ki jo omenjajo tudi v Guinnessovi knjigi rekordov. Prevod jedilnega lista je bistveno več od prevoda seznama jedi. Gre za vizitko vsake gostilne ali restavracije, ki gosta privabi in navduši ali celo odvrne od ponovnega obiska. Znana slovenska in nemška pregovora pravita, da ljubezen gre skozi želodec. Navedeni rek opozarja na pomen gastronomije in kulinarike predvsem v globalnem turističnem okolju, saj turisti želijo pokusiti domače specialitete in kulturno značilne jedi, ki morajo za tujega gosta biti ustrezno prevedene tako z jezikovnega kot kulturnega vidika. Namen magistrskega dela je ugotoviti, ali so jedilni listi in vinske karte gostiln ter restavracij v Mariboru in bližnji okolici prevedeni v nemščino. Hkrati nas zanima, ali so prevodi ustrezni. Po podatkih Zavoda za turizem Maribor se število nemško govorečih gostov v Mariboru v obdobju zadnjih treh let giblje med 23 % in 37 %, kar pomeni, da tvorijo večino tujejezičnih gostov. Kljub visokim odstotkom nemško govorečih gostov smo v empirični raziskavi ugotovili, da so jedilni listi in vinske karte pomanjkljivo prevedeni. Da bi prispevali k poenotenju terminologije vinarstva, smo izdelali vinski terminološki slovensko-nemški glosar.

Sekundarni povzetek: Proper translations of wine and culinary experiences are part of the promotion of Maribor, a well-known city with The Old Vine, which is also mentioned in the Guinness book of records. The translation of a menu is far more than just the translation of a list of dishes. It is a business card of every inn or restaurant, which can either attract guests or deter them from visiting again. A well-known Slovene and German proverb says that love goes through the stomach, drawing attention to the importance of gastronomy and cuisine, especially in the global tourist environment, as tourists want to try local specialities and distinctive cultural dishes, which must be properly translated for foreign guests, both from a linguistic and cultural point of view. The purpose of the master's thesis is to determine whether the menus and vine lists of inns and restaurants in Maribor and the surrounding area have been translated into the German language. At the same time, we would like to find out if these translations are adequate. According to the data from the Maribor tourist Board, the number of German speaking guests in Maribor has varied between 23% and 37% over the past three years, which means that they present the majority of foreign-speaking guests. Despite the high percentage, the empirical research has shown us that the menus and wine lists are poorly translated. We have created a Slovene German glossary of wine terminology to help unify the terminology of winemaking.
