Povzetek
Diplomsko delo je razdeljeno na teoretični in empirični del. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela smo preučevali literaturo o plavanju in pomenu plavanja za človeka, o razvoju plavalnega opismenjevanja v Sloveniji ter pomenu plavanja za razvoj otroka. Izpostavili smo možnosti učenja plavanja v predšolskem obdobju. Preučili smo dosedanje raziskave in ugotovitve o plavanju otrok v predšolskem obdobju. V empiričnem delu je predstavljena primerjalna raziskava o vplivu bližine kopališč kraju bivanja otrok na predznanje in prilagojenost otrok na vodo. Uporabili smo ne slučajnostni vzorec iz konkretne populacije 46 otrok vrtca Ljutomer, ki bivajo v bližini kopališča, in 33 otrok vrtca Sladki Vrh, ki v bližini kraja bivanja kopališča nimajo. Podatke smo pridobili s kvantitativno metodo/ocenjevalno lestvico na 10-urnem plavalnem tečaju predšolskih otrok obeh vrtcev. Za obdelavo podatkov smo uporabili kvantitativni metodi deskriptivna statistika in bivariantna analiza/t-test. Osnovna ugotovitev primerjalne raziskave je pokazala, da bližina kopališč kraju bivanja nima pomembnega vpliva na predznanje in prilagojenost otrok na vodo pred plavalnim tečajem. Po plavalnem tečaju pa so otroci vrtca Ljutomer izkazovali boljše rezultate, iz česar zaključujemo, da bližina kopališč kraju bivanja pozitivno vpliva na boljše usvajanje plavalnih znanj otrok na plavalnem tečaju.

The diploma paper is divided into theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part we studied the literature of swimming and the meaning of it to each individual, the development of swimming literacy in Slovenia as well as the influence of swimming on a child's development. We stressed out the possibility of a swimming practice for preschool children. We thoroughly studied the recent surveys and findings about children practising swimming in the preschool period. In the empirical part a comparative research is presented about how the vicinity of swimming facilities in the town influences on child's prior knowledge and his adjustment to the water in general. We used a non-probability sample from a specific population of 46 children, from the kindergarten in Ljutomer, who live in the vicinity of a swimming pool complex and 33 children from the kindergarten in Sladki Vrh, who does not have a swimming pool close by. We managed to gather the data with the help of a quantitative method/evaluation scale after a 10-hour swimming course of children from both kindergartens. The main finding of the research revealed that the vicinity of a swimming pool complex does not have a significant influence on the prior knowledge as well as on the adjustment of children to the water before taking a swimming course. After the swimming lessons, however, the children from Ljutomer showed better results. Due to this we come to the conclusion that the vicinity of a swimming pool complex positively affects the assimilation of swimming skills of children during the swimming lessons. |
