diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Organizacija in management kadrovskih in izobraževalnih sistemov

Managing Diversity in Biotechnical Centre Naklo |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
People have different life experience, which means that their perception of what is going on around them differs significantly as well. Diversity is a set of characteristics of individuals which set them apart from one another and make them unique and unexampled. As a result, the ability of organisations and companies to understand the management and comprehension of diversity among employees is crucial for their effectiveness and success.
The thesis consists of two parts, i.e. a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part discusses the notion of diversity and its factors and explains diversity management and its positive effects on the company. It also touches on the management of generational stereotypes in the workplace and the effect they have on the behaviour of an individual.
As for the empirical part, it explores the opinion of employees of the Biotechnical Centre Naklo about employee diversity and how it impacts business effectiveness and goal achievement. The respondents were also required to identify the category of diversity that they found is the most welcome and positive for the company in question. Another point of interest was their opinion about their own contribution to the success of the company with their uniqueness. They also had to pinpoint the diversity factor they feel the most tolerant towards.
The acquired data indicates that the employees have a positive attitude towards diversity and its management. However, the perception of diversity management could be improved through education of both employees and leadership on this topic because it would also enhance their communication and understanding. |
