Abstract

V delu je predstavljena definicija in raba funkcije $\Gamma$. Ta je v matematiki znana kot orodje, ki posploši pojem fakultete naravnih števil na realna in kompleksna števila. Poleg definicij in dokazov v delu najdemo tudi kar nekaj formul, ki jih uporabljamo v vsakdanjem računanju in vključujejo funkcijo $\Gamma$. Manjši del je posvečen tudi dejanski uporabi, kjer je predstavljena $\Gamma$ porazdelitev.

Secondary title: Gamma function and its use
Secondary abstract: This paper presents the definition and use of $\Gamma$ function. The function itself is most known for generalization of factorial from natural numbers to real and complex numbers. Besides definitions and proofs, the paper contains some theorems that show how $\Gamma$ function is used in everyday mathematics. A small part is dedicated to actual usage where the $\Gamma$ distribution is presented.
