Secondary title: Puppet - an assistant in preschool education
Secondary abstract: The thesis deals with various statements appearing in relevant literature that indicate the puppet as an indispensible assistant in furthering the child’s development across numerous fields. The paper is mostly concerned with the role of the puppet in the development of social skills, as well as with its influence on emotional and creative development and learning motivation. The theoretical part presents the suitability and possibilities of puppet use in various age groups of children, the role of the puppet in communication development, the role of the nursery teacher in puppet activities and his relationship with the puppet, as well as the influence of the puppet on the children’s motivation, creative, emotional and social development. The part in question also presents methods of puppetry and features of project work. The empirical part describes the process of planning the puppet show, in relation to which we observed the levels of motivation, as well as creative, emotional and social development. This part also consists of preparations for puppet activities, results of our observations and their interpretation. The conclusion lists the results of our study, i.e. that the puppet is an invaluable means of increasing children’s motivation and encouraging their creative, emotional and social development.
