Abstract

V magistrski nalogi smo najprej predstavili zgodovino policije in njeno organiziranost, Policijsko upravo Maribor in njeno kadrovsko strukturo. Glede same izvedbe, kvalitete in vsebine usposabljanj so policisti neopredeljeni. V zaključku smo povzeli ugotovitve in predlagali konkretne izboljšave obstoječega sistema usposabljanja.

Secondary abstract: In master’s thesis we first presented the history of the police and its organization, the Police Directorate Maribor and its personnel structure. Furthermore, we presented in details the basic concepts on the subject of qualifying the employees in the organization. Moreover, we described how the training in the Slovenian police is organized; we presented how the police ensure adequate training, adjusted to the situation and to the changes in society and to verify whether enough attention is paid to the training of police. We found out that the police training is of a great importance. By carrying out research in all police stations of the Police Directorate Maribor we found out the opinion of the policeman on training system. The results showed that police officers are motivated to train, that they want more training and that the most of them believe that training helps them in carrying out the work. Our presumption that police officers often attend training sessions which are considered to be unnecessary is confirmed and that they cannot attend certain courses, despite the wishes, which suggests that training of the police is not the most appropriate. Considering performance, quality and content of training is the police undefined. In conclusion, we summarize the findings and suggest concrete improvements of the existing training system.
