The diploma thesis focuses on the use of expression of physical movement as a motivational incentive for learning a foreign language.
In the theoretical part, the fundamental concepts are introduced: (1) movement as one of the basic characteristics of living beings, which is daily present in our lives and gives us a healthy lifestyle, communication and which also connects us, (2) creative movement as a means of learning, and (3) active learning as a way of acquiring knowledge of a foreign language.
In the practical part, I listed and described the objectives, hypotheses and activities that have been carried out.
The obtained results support the hypotheses. Children did learn and remember new words faster with the help of dance, movement and gestures; recognizing new words has encouraged them to greater creativity in expressing the physical movement and using the creative movement; thinking operations were carried out in reverse order, and all these was achieved mainly because of a pleasant way of learning. |
