Dancing is a body language and one of the most ancient arts. In time it evolved into various forms, ballroom dancing among others, part of which are also International Standard and International Latin dances. Ballroom dancing primarily strives for professionalism and precision in the process of learning, and does not include much freedom in expressing through movement and basic instincts. This thesis demonstrates an interim teaching model for ballroom dancing, which includes both the professional and the pedagogic teaching model for this form of dancing.
The theoretical part of the thesis shows the basic instincts of the art of dancing, which offers a lot of satisfaction and creativity besides the physical activity, considering that the dance contents are explained properly. Furthermore, it is explained how important it is to develop creativity in early childhood, how important the relaxation is, and the emphasis is put on teacher's role in the process.
In the context of creative dancing workshops the object of research was the interim teaching model for ballroom dancing. The method of creative movement was included into the model mentioned and the result was the basic steps of samba and the Viennese waltz. This method offers the children a lot of expression in movement, which made them extremely happy when creating. Obvious progress was seen in children's motoric functions, emotional and social virtues. Because of their positive disposition, joy and progress in expressing through movement, during the process of this project my view of this teaching model was changing as well. Introspection and evaluations of individual classes brought me as a dance teacher to new revelations and joy when teaching. |
